My name is Andy and I am one of the teachers at Putschool.

 

I have been working in education for over 17 years, predominantly in primary education, and I have a specialist background in supporting pupils with additional needs. This has led me to work in the areas of supporting learners with English as a second or additional language, working in learning support and in special education too, particularly with pupils who have profound needs.

 

I have worked in Primary ESL settings for over 12 years and have worked with learners from the ages of 3 through to 16. I have worked in the UK and Ireland and in international settings which is currently where I work as Head of  EAL and SEN. I have set up ESL provision in several schools and I am particularly proud of the commendations those schools have had for their ESL provision from the national inspectorate in those countries. I enjoy working with younger learners and I have always enjoyed both good and successful relationships with my pupils and their families in both EAL and SEN settings.

 

In my spare time, I enjoy watching sports ? particularly Football ? I am a keen Liverpool fan as it is my local club, and also rugby ? I used to play both codes of the sport. I also enjoy national hunt horse racing.

 

In my career I am keen to explore e-learning further, I already operate several LMS for EAL learners which have proved successful and I am keen to develop my online tutoring skills as a teacher with PutSchool.
